Commitment to Publication Integrity

The Applied Journal of Digital Innovation (AJDI) is fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, transparency, and reliability in all its publications.
As part of this commitment, AJDI participates in the Crossmark initiative by Crossref, which provides a standardized mechanism for readers to identify the current status and version of a published article.

Crossmark serves as a verification system that ensures readers can quickly determine whether a published work has been updated, corrected, or retracted, even years after its initial release.

About Crossmark

Crossmark is a multi-publisher service developed by Crossref to ensure the integrity of scholarly content.
By clicking the Crossmark logo embedded in the article PDF or HTML page, readers can immediately view the publication’s update status and access related metadata such as:

  • Key publication dates (submission, revision, acceptance, publication).

  • Authors’ ORCID iDs.

  • Type of content (research article, review, etc.).

  • Plagiarism screening and ethical compliance.

  • License information (Creative Commons CC BY 4.0).

  • Funding acknowledgments and data availability statements.

This system guarantees that researchers, librarians, and readers always have access to the most accurate and verified version of the published article.

Version Control and Update Policy

AJDI recognizes that scientific research is dynamic and may require updates or corrections even after publication.
All modifications are categorized according to Crossref and COPE guidelines as either minor or major changes:

1. Minor Changes

  • Corrections of typographical, formatting, or minor metadata errors.

  • Updates that do not alter the substance, conclusions, or interpretation of the article.
    In these cases, the Crossmark status remains “current”, and no formal correction notice is required.

2. Major Changes

  • Corrections or revisions that significantly affect the understanding or validity of the published work.

  • Retractions, author additions/removals, or major updates with new data.
    For these cases, AJDI issues a Correction Notice, Retraction Notice, or Addendum, each with its own DOI and open accessibility, ensuring transparency for readers.

Transparency and Traceability

Every article published in AJDI includes a Crossmark logo that links directly to its record in the Crossref system.
This ensures full traceability of:

  • The article’s update history.

  • Peer review completion.

  • License type.

  • Publisher and DOI registration metadata.

Through Crossmark, AJDI provides a reliable mechanism for verifying the trustworthiness of each publication and maintaining academic integrity across time
