Anti-plagiarism policy

Commitment to Originality

The Applied Journal of Digital Innovation (AJDI) guarantees that all academic articles published are original, unpublished, and not under consideration in any other journal or publication medium, either in full or in part.
AJDI strictly prohibits duplicate, redundant, or simultaneous submissions.

The journal upholds the principles of academic integrity, intellectual honesty, and transparency as established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Plagiarism Detection Procedures

To enforce these standards, AJDI employs advanced similarity-checking software to detect potential plagiarism and text overlap before the peer review process begins.
The primary tools used are:

  • Crossref Similarity Check (powered by iThenticate)

  • Turnitin

  • Plag.es

As complementary verification, the editorial office may also use secondary tools such as Plagium, DupliChecker, Grammarly, or Copyscape, when necessary.

Similarity Thresholds and Review

  • Each manuscript is subjected to a plagiarism screening prior to peer review.

  • If the similarity index exceeds 20%, the corresponding author will be notified by email.

  • The communication will include the full similarity report and an expert’s assessment outlining the sections of concern.

Authors will then have the opportunity to submit a written explanation or clarification.
If, after review, the editorial team concludes that plagiarism or self-plagiarism has occurred, the submission will be rejected without external review.

Author Responsibility

Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts for similarity prior to submission using reputable plagiarism detection tools.
Upon request, the editorial team may recommend open-access alternatives for preliminary self-checking.

The authors are fully responsible for:

  • Ensuring proper citation and quotation of all reused material.

  • Avoiding inappropriate paraphrasing, translation plagiarism, or duplication of data.

  • Declaring any overlap with previously published work.

Consequences of Plagiarism

Detected plagiarism — whether total, partial, or self-plagiarism — is considered a serious ethical violation.
Depending on the severity, AJDI may apply the following actions:

  1. Immediate rejection of the manuscript during initial screening.

  2. Notification of misconduct to the authors’ affiliated institutions (in severe or repeated cases).

  3. Retraction or correction of already published articles, following COPE Retraction Guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/).

Transparency and Good Practice

AJDI supports authors in achieving high ethical standards and encourages the responsible use of text-generation and paraphrasing tools, provided they are transparently disclosed and used only under human supervision.

Maintaining originality and academic honesty is essential to ensuring the credibility, trust, and international reputation of research published under Reincisol Publishing.
